All I can say is, I'm so tired of church as usual, that I am willing to attend a more orthodox church just to experience an atmosphere of reverence and focus on God and God alone. What has driven me this far, you may ask?

The other day, I listened to the radio on my way home. As usual my choices for great Christian teaching and music was quite limited. Indeed. Anyway, I could either endure a debate on the validity of pre-trib versus post-trib rapture of the saints (What difference does it make whether Jesus comes for us before or after the tribulation? If we choose Him as Savior, we have the comfort of knowing we shall reign with Him forever). Or I could listen to loving Christian moderators inform a caller that his church is definitely bordering on being cultist. How reassuring! Not! Wait, though, I still had one more choice. This station discussed the issue of false churches with female senior pastors.

Are you as aggravated as I was? As I'm becoming again? That's right. Whatever my stand on any of these issues, God is God and I am not and I'll never understand it all as the song goes. Why do we quibble over the details, straining at gnats and swallowing camels? Is it possible the church's current lack of influence is due largely to the inability to focus on the absolute truths of God's Word? What happened to the call for personal holiness and reverence for God?

In my own personal life, the constant urge to compromise in the little unseen things can be a wearying battle. Can the church of God please arise and be the cheering section for its many wounded? Can we rally together and create a community of safety and security for those who really do not care about the desserts and steaks we serve - they are just so hungry and thirsty for the pure milk of the Word? What happened to orthodox believers who went to Church on Sunday as a way of life, without the hoopla and Greek words, but whose very character and lives were a sermon to all around them?

Can anyone else feel my pain? My comfort is God's confident proclamation that He will come for a church without spot or wrinkle. Ephesians 5:27. He called the world into existence by the word of His mouth: Because He said it, it is so.

Well said my dear Sister...This is the reason why we must not be men pleasers, because they will slowly intrude on our Sanctified territory, resultin in us having a divided heart and not a heart that loves God totally. Jesus told the woman who was at the well: john 4v21-24, "they who worship God must worship Him in spirit and truth".
So our focus must be on God.
I pray for the "Church wounded, and misled souls" to grab on to this truth.
